Note: There seem to be some confusion about why Louisa is referred to as both Southern and Weddle or Weddle. On the certificate of birth for John Rufus, it says "Southern" It might be possible that she was "adopted" by one of the "Joyce-Southern" marriages in the previous generation. If anyone has this information, there are some who would appreciate having the "mystery" solved.

Molly was b: Sept 24, 1853, and d: Jan. 6, 1941. I'm including the grandchildren in smaller text because I have several photos of them. Their children were:

This article from a Richland's Newspaper on July 1925: JOYCE VICTIM OF BRUTAL MURDER, SHOT THROUGH HEAD BY MOON SHINER~~ Oscar Joyce died Sunday July 26th
in a very lonely spot far back in the forest recesses near Glenburke, after living for 2 hours with almost half of his head torn away by the passage of a bullet fired from a .30 caliber high
powered rifle, being the second victim of a brutal murder within the past month in that section of Tazwell and Buchanan counties. A part of five officers and their deputies were searching
the hills for Walter Strouthe, alleged murdered, but up until Wednesday he had not been found. =================================================================================================================================================
Now the Paul Harvey version: Rachel and Rhoda, wives of Robert Henry and Oscar were going out to pick blackberries. Oscar and Robert told their wives not to go to a particular spot
in the woods because Walter Strouthe was there making liquor. Both headstrong wives went picking berries near there anyway and were shot at. They didn't tell their husbands about
the incident for fear that they would go after the men who shot at them. Instead, they told their brother -in- law, George Stephenson about the incident....who in turn told Oscar and Robert.
The brothers got their guns and went to the place where their wives had been shot at. Apparently, there was already a great deal of hostility between Walter Strouthe and Robert Joyce so Walter, mistaking Oscar for Robert, shot him in the head. =================================================================================================================================================

(see marriage certificate) Their Children are/were: (1) Norma Darlene Joyce, b: March 3, 1933, d: Sept 16, 1994. She had 1 child, Taylor Joyce, born; Nov. 18, 1960. She lives in NYC and has no children. (2) Charlotte Alma Joyce, b: Aug. 23, 1934. "Alma" married Kenneth Breedlove (b: May 10, 1933 at Swords Creek, Va.) on May 9, 1952. They had 1 child, (me) Karen Jean Breedlove. Alma married: 2) Gerald N. McKown. (no children) They reside in Mansfield, Ohio. (3) Doris Elaine Joyce, b: Dec. 20, 1936. "Elaine" married Donald Eugene Jackson in Richlands, Va. They have 4 children: Theresa Lynn Jackson, b: Sept 26, 1955, never married, no children. "Terri" lives in Chattanooga, TN. She is a guidance counselor at Ooltewah Middle School. Donna Christine Jackson May, b: Oct. 31, 1956, married to Col. Howard Fredrick May "Bud", they have no children, and live in Dayton, Ohio.. Lori Denise Jackson Stauffer, b: April 17, 1959, married to Larry Stauffer. They have 3 children, Daniel, Jenna, and Julianna and live in Mansfield, Ohio. Melanie Ann Jackson Brinner, b: Feb. 18, 1964. She has 2 children, Charlie and Rachel. She, husband Tom and children live in Mansfield, Ohio. (4) Curtis William Joyce, born: Sept. 17, 1939, Died: Feb. 6, 1961. Curtis William, "Bud" was age 22 when he was killed in a car accident, he was not married and had no children. This is the end of the "Joyce" name from our branch of Joyce's.

Karen Jean Breedlove: Born May 1, 1953, married Ronald Catron on Jan. 13, 1973. They had 2 children, Mara Adele (b: Oct 20, 1975, and Merideth Anne,b: Jan 25, 1977. Divorced Ronald in 1978. Karen married Patrick Etzwiler on July 14, 1979. They had 1 daughter, Patricia Erin Etzwiler b: Dec. 21, 1980. Patrick adopted Merideth Anne in 1993. Mara Adele is divorced, no children. Merideth Anne Etzwiler, single, she lives in Beaufort, SC.

Patricia Erin Etzwiler, born: Dec 21, 1980. She had son Nicholas Tyler Etzwiler on March 3, 1997. She married Michael Casey in Wooster, Ohio in Jan. 2000. They have 2 children: Emelia Katherine Casey, b; Sept. 3, 2000 and Michael Patrick Casey b: Aug. 10, 2003.

Brown Floyd Thomas Watson Taylor, Born: unknown, Died: June 1, 1971. He married Lilie Mae Hylton in April 1910 in Algoma, W. Va. They had 3 children: (1) Gladys Estelle Taylor (Joyce), b: Oct. 18, 1911, d: Aug 23, 2001, (1) Virginia Kathleen Taylor (Johnson), b: May 18, 1913 in Algoma W. Va, d: June 1970, in Mansfield, Ohio, and (3) Peter Paul Taylor, b: July 30, 1914, d: early 1950s in Fredericktown, Ohio. Brown Floyd married "Deliah" after the death of Lilie Mae and they had 1 child, (4) William, date of birth and death unknown. Brown Floyd divorced Deliah after she had been in a mental institution. She died there. He then married: Julia Leftwich. They had the following children: (5) Ellen Lorraine Taylor (Groom), b: Oct. 6, 1920. d: unknown, (6) Regena Luemma Taylor (Helber) b: Nov. 5, 1922, still living in Columbus, Ohio; (7) Dorothy Jean Taylor (Amon), b: Jan. 31, 1925, d: 2001, (8) Edna Beatrice Taylor (Grace), b: Nov. 13, 1927, d: 2001, (9) Margaret Louise Taylor (Hodge) (ask Mom what her name is now?) b: Mar. 24, 1930, still living in Columbus, Ohio, and (10) James Richard Taylor, b: June 8, 1932, d: unknown.

The parents of Brown Floyd Taylor were : Robert Taylor, b: 1857, d: Oct. 26, 1892 and Ellen Neal (Taylor) b: 1850, d: 1899.

Grandpa Taylor (Brown Floyd) was a traveling Evangelist Preacher. I don't remember that he ever "lived" anywhere. We believe that he and his family was from Columbus, Ohio because that's where his and Julia's children were, and he had several brothers and sisters there. LILIE MAE HYLTON , was the daughter of Alfred Fredrick Hylton, b: April 18, 1865, d: July 10, 1937, and Harriet McKinney Hylton, b: Sept. 8, 1877, d: March 1959. Date of birth unknown for twins Lilie Mae and Laura Mary Hylton. Lilie Mae Hylton Taylor died in 1914 after complications from the birth of Peter Paul Taylor. LilieMae (Taylor) and Laura Mary (Belcher) had 10 other siblings. They were: Lizzie, Lucille, Ed, William, Raymond, Woodrow, Henry, Virgil and Horace. Click HERE to see HYLTON Family Photos.
